Bain Capital Has A New $6.7 Billion To Spend In Europe

Bain Capital is among the buyout firms to have emerged from a difficult fundraising environment with a new pool of cash for doing deals. I caught up with Robin Marshall, partner and co-head of Bain’s European private equity team, to talk about the fund and the firm’s plans for spending the money in it. Here are some highlights from our chat. —Swetha Gopinath

Tell us about the new European fund.

We successfully raised €6.4 billon in a very challenging fundraising environment, 26% more than our previous fund. We launched in 2022, and we were able to wrap up most of the investment in the first 12 months. This is the biggest pool of capital we have ever gathered for European investments.
