Barclays Hires Deutsche Bank’s Woods As Vice Chairman

Ian Woods, a managing director on the building products team at Deutsche Bank AG, is joining Barclays Plc’s industrials group.

Woods, who will be based in New York, will be a vice chairman at Barclays tasked with leading efforts with clients in building products and distribution, the bank said in a memo reviewed by Bloomberg. He will report to John Lange, global head of energy and global co-head of industrials investment banking, and Spyros Svoronos, global co-head of industrials investment banking.

“I am delighted to welcome Ian to Barclays. His long-established relationships in the building products and distribution sectors together with his extensive transactional experience will generate significant value for our clients,” Lange said in a statement. “These qualities, combined with his proven leadership capabilities, make him an excellent addition to our industrials banking platform.”
