Former Paramount Global senior executive David Nevins has been tapped as chief executive of North Road, the independent production company helmed by Hollywood veteran Peter Chernin.
The decision to bring in Nevins is indicative of North Road’s ambitious expansion plans, Chernin said in an interview. North Road said it has added $150 million to its capital reserves via the Qatar Investment Authority, the country’s sovereign-wealth fund.
North Road, which launched about a year ago, both creates its own content and holds ownership stakes in several other production companies, including Peyton Manning’s Omaha Productions. North Road properties include the movies “Ford v Ferrari” and “Hidden Figures.” It currently has 85 productions in the works for various outlets including Netflix, HBO and Apple TV+.
