PricewaterhouseCoopers’ board selected the global head of the firm’s advisory business as its new global chair to helm the Big Four professional-services giant beginning next summer as it navigates slowing revenue growth.

The board of the roughly 364,000-person firm on Monday informed partners that Mohamed Kande would succeed departing chair Robert Moritz on July 1, 2024 pending approval from the member firms, according to people familiar with the matter. Kande, who joined PwC in 2011, serves as vice chair and co-head of the U.S. unit’s consulting business in addition to global advisory leader.

The PwC member firms, which span 151 countries, will vote to ratify the selection over the coming weeks, with the appointment expected to be official by the end of the year, the people said. Like the other Big Four firms, which include Ernst & Young, KPMG and Deloitte, PwC is structured as an international network of private partnerships.
