Tech Entrepreneur Pays $47 Million For Manhattan Townhouse

A Manhattan townhouse once owned by the late banking titan David Rockefeller has sold for $47 million, after listing for $57.5 million in July.

The buyer is Bijan Tehrani, a tech entrepreneur who lives in Australia, according to people familiar with the transaction.

The sellers are Doug Band, a longtime adviser to former President Bill Clinton, and his wife, Lily Band. The Bands purchased the townhouse from Rockefeller’s estate for $20 million in 2018 and spent four years renovating it. The Bands declined to comment.
