Less than a year after Estée Lauder struck a roughly $2.8 billion deal to acquire Tom Ford’s fashion label, the designer has paid $52 million for a historic Hamptons property.
Ford is the purchaser of Lasata, the Hamptons estate where Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis spent childhood summers, according to people familiar with the deal. The sale closed last week.
The deal is just the latest major property transaction for Ford, who purchased a modern Palm Beach mansion for $51 million in December 2022. He later swapped it for an even larger house owned by Brian Kosoy, chief executive of the real-estate private-equity firm the Sterling Organization, in an off-market transaction, according to property records and people familiar with the situation.
