Philanthropist Julia Koch, the widow of billionaire industrialist David Koch, has sold the couple’s Manhattan townhouse for $41 million in an off-market deal, according to a source familiar with the deal. The identity of the buyer couldn’t be determined.
The Kochs purchased the East 76th Street house for $40.25 million in 2018, records show.
Located just off Park Avenue, the 36-foot-wide mansion has about 15,000 square feet of interior space and a garden on the first floor, records show. The eight-bedroom house, renovated by architect Peter Marino, has a grand open staircase connecting six stories, according to a source familiar with the property. The lower level features a custom media room, spa and walkout sports court.
